I thought I brought my house in September and I recently noticed the show floor is about 2mm detached from the plinth. What causes this and how to solve this problem? Insurance will pay?

Whenever you quote household insurance it asks you if you ever refused to have insurance. Why would this happen? And if so, it does not count against you for the rest of your life? Is there an insurer willing to insure these people?
